The Empress

Nothing reads as progress from outside, and the standing temptation is to dig it up and check whether it is doing anything.

Her authority is worth reading precisely: she sits in a field rather than a court, and she governs by conditions rather than by commands. Nothing on the card is being forced into shape. Applied to your current situation, the actual job is maintaining inputs — attention, time, money, rest — and letting the rate of return be whatever the thing's own rate is.

This applies to you as material and not only as the one doing the work. Abundance in this card is never a windfall; it is what a well-fed system produces on its own terms. These two appear opposite and routinely occur in the same person during the same month. In the future position, The Empress describes increase arriving on a schedule you did not set. The coming period asks a sorting question: what are you prepared to keep alive, given that everything kept alive draws on the same finite supply?
